Journey of Kauvery Heart Rhythm at Chennai

Happy Doctors Day Dear Colleagues!
I began my medical journey exactly 22 years ago on Doctor’s Day, July 1. During my early medical training, exceptional teachers inspired me to pursue postgraduation in internal medicine. While exploring different areas within this field, I gradually developed a strong interest in cardiology and eventually chose it as my specialization. After completing 14 years of medical education, I started my career as a cardiologist in 2016.
Soon afterward, I realized the importance of focusing on a super-specialty within cardiology. Interestingly, ECG (electrocardiogram) interpretation had fascinated me since my days in internal medicine. Therefore, I decided to deepen my knowledge in this area and moved abroad for advanced training. As a result, I became a cardiac electrophysiologist specializing in heart rhythm disorders.
Today, my work focuses on diagnosing and treating complex rhythm conditions, including Pacemaker Implementation in Chennai for patients who require advanced cardiac rhythm management. Moreover, modern electrophysiology treatments help restore normal heart rhythm and significantly improve a patient’s quality of life.
As I continue practicing in this specialized field, I remain deeply grateful to my parents and family. Their constant encouragement and unwavering support have played a vital role throughout this journey.
The Inception of Kauvery Heart Rhythm Services at Chennai
Interestingly, it was again on Doctor’s Day—July 1, 2022—that four cardiac electrophysiologists from Trichy and Chennai came together to launch Kauvery Heart Rhythm Services (KHRS) in Chennai. The initiative was introduced in the august presence of our Executive Director, Dr. Aravindan Selvaraj.
Until then, KHRS had been actively functioning at the Kauvery Heart Institute in Trichy. However, expanding the services to Chennai marked an important milestone for advanced cardiac care. The primary vision of KHRS is to deliver state-of-the-art heart rhythm treatments, including Pacemaker Implementation in Chennai, at affordable costs.
Furthermore, KHRS aims to spread awareness among the public about heart rhythm disorders and their treatment options. In addition, the program focuses on continuously developing advanced infrastructure to perform the latest procedures in cardiac electrophysiology. Consequently, patients can receive world-class treatment and expert cardiac rhythm care closer to home.

Salem , 28th April 2025 : Kauvery Hospitals, one of the leading multi-specialty healthcare hospital chains in Tamil Nadu, successfully administered Radio Frequency Ablation (RFA) treatment for VT-induced Cardiomyopathy for the first time in Salem.
Fascicular Ventricular Tachycardia (VT) is the most common idiopathic ventricular tachycardia of the left ventricle, typically occurring in young patients. It causes rapid increase in heartbeat rate, which if left untreated could prove fatal.
A 29-year-old patient was admitted to Salem Kauvery Hospital with complaints of palpitations and breathlessness. His ECG and echocardiogram results revealed ventricular tachycardia (VT), although not in a serious condition. His heart rate was irregular, and he experienced frequent palpitations, for which he was treated with medication.
